Empire of Sin re-creates Chicago’s Prohibition-era mobster underworld

Empire of Sin is an XCOM-inspired turn-based strategy game set in 1920s Chicago. The game “puts you at the heart of the ruthless criminal underworld” dominated by the likes of Al Capone.

Paradox announced Empire of Sin at this year’s E3. It sounds interesting, allowing you to explore a carefully-recreated Prohibition-era city carved into gang territories.

The goal is to build your own crime empire from the ground up. You have to recruit a team of loyalists, expand your turf, and face off in turn-based shootouts, all set in a historically accurate setting.

In addition to forming and breaking alliances with rival gangs, you can also buy off cops and trade on the black market. The ultimate goal is to become King or Queen of Chicago.

Paradox says that Empire of Sin will be released on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One in spring 2020.
