Want to write about video games? Now is your chance!

Game Freaks 365 is growing. We want you to be a part of our expanding team of contributors!

Whether your interest is in writing news stories, reviewing the latest games, or composing a list of the top ten reasons why Sega does what Nintendon’t, we are looking to fill a number of different roles.

You don’t need experience writing for a video game website, but you do need to know how to string words together in a semi-coherent fashion. You should also have a genuine passion for video games, video game culture (the positive kind, not the obnoxious and toxic), and working with people from different backgrounds.

It’s a huge plus if you have a positive attitude, meet deadlines, and respond well to constructive criticism. Also, please don’t be a fanboy. We’re not interested in console wars here.

Have any questions? We have answers!

So you said you have multiple roles. What are they?

At the moment, we are looking for three different sets of contributors: news writers, review writers, and video editors.

Are you looking for full-time or part-time?

We’re not looking to hire employees at this time. Our site is small and our limited budget is dedicated to maintaining our servers and marketing efforts. If we grow enough to justify hiring employees, the contributors on our team will be the first in line for any paid positions.

What’re you paying?

These are not paid roles. Our contributors are volunteers. You can accept “tips” from readers at the bottom of your articles with a Paypal.me address. More importantly, you’ll gain writing experience, connections in the industry, and a fancy line on your résumé from a credible independent gaming outlet that’s been around since 2003. In addition, review writers are eligible for free games.

Did you say free games? Sign me up!

Yes, free games. But hold your horses! You’ll need to be reliable and ethical to qualify. That doesn’t mean writing for us every day or even every week. It does mean making deadlines, writing semi-regularly, and submitting original content that remains exclusive to Game Freaks 365.

Okay, I’ll write for you, but can I only write for you?

You can write or stream for whoever you want! However, any content that you submit must remain exclusive to our publication.

So I can’t even republish it on my own blog?

No, sorry. We give you full credit for your contributions and will link to your social media accounts at the bottom of any articles that you write on our website, but the content has to remain exclusive to our website. Sound good?

Um, I’m embarrassed to say this, but I’ve never heard of Game Freaks 365.

That’s not a question.

Yeah, well, who are you?

We’ve been around longer than Facebook, Gmail, and YouTube and you haven’t heard of us?

I was born in 2001.

…..

Didn’t you say something about valuing diversity? Yeah, I’m young. So what?

Right, okay. No judgments! Drop us a line at [email protected] with some background information (including relevant experience) and how you would like to contribute to the site. Be sure to link us to any writing or video editing samples that you have. We’ll go from there.

Glad we’re cool, grandpa.

Hey!

All right, so I emailed you guys. When will I hear back?

Since we anticipate a flood of responses, we’ve built a giant ark where we’ll safely review each submission. We’ll only reach out if we think that you would be a good fit. If we don’t get back to you, don’t worry. You can always apply to become a contributor again in the future!
