FAR: Lone Sails coming to Nintendo Switch this month

The unique indie adventure game FAR: Lone Sails is getting released on the Nintendo Switch on August 18.

FAR: Lone Sails is the best indie game that I’ve played in a long time,” I wrote back in April when reviewing the PS4 version. “It’s not perfect, but it is a stunning work of art.”

Here’s how I described the game:

At its core, FAR is an adventure game with a heavy emphasis on resource management, light platforming, and clever (if not simple) puzzle solving. You have to learn how to operate your vehicle, collect fuel, and maintain the various components that keep the machine humming. Hazards, such as roadblocks and weather, can cause fires that need to be put out and malfunctions that need to be repaired. To ultimately reach your final destination, you will need to be strategic with your use of resources to maximize the ship’s performance.

FAR: Lone Sails first launched on PC back in May 2018. It has since been released on PS4 and Xbox One. The Switch version will be the first time that the game has gone portable.
