Final Fantasy VII Remake, Marvel’s Avengers delayed

Two big-name games are being delayed: Final Fantasy VII Remake and Marvel’s Avengers.

Thankfully, Final Fantasy fans will not have to wait long for the highly-anticipated remake. Originally planned for a March 3, 2020 release, Final Fantasy VII Remake will now be released on April 10.

“We are making this tough decision in order to give ourselves a few extra weeks to apply final polish to the game and to deliver you with the best possible experience,” says Yoshinori Kitase, the game’s producer.

Marvel’s Avengers is getting a more significant delay. The game will now be released on September 4. The original launch date was set for May 15. Of course, Final Fantasy fans have been waiting almost five years; Marvel’s Avengers was just announced last year.

“When we set out to bring you our vision for Marvel’s Avengers, we committed to delivering an original story-driven campaign, engaging co-op, and compelling content for years to come,” developer Crystal Dynamics said in a statement. “To that end, we will spend this additional development time focusing on fine-tuning and polishing the game to the high standards our fans expect and deserve.”

Marvel’s Avengers is coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. Final Fantasy VII Remake is a one-year PS4 exclusive.
