A big surprise was dropped during the latest Nintendo Direct. The main protagonist from one of the most popular games ever made is coming to Super Smash Bros. on Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.

Cloud was revealed as a playable character in Smash Bros. and a new Final Fantasy 7 arena was shown off as well. No details have been made available concerning price or the release date for the new DLC.
Cloud may seem like a bit of a strange choice considering Final Fantasy 7 was a PlayStation 1 exclusive but he isn’t the first third party character to make an appearance in Super Smash Bros. Mega Man, Snake, and even long-time rival mascot Sonic the Hedgehog have all made appearances in the franchise.
