Final Fantasy XIV Online: Shadowbringers update adds Ishgard Restoration, raid

Square Enix has released Patch 5.11 for Final Fantasy XIV Online: Shadowbringers. The latest update calls on players to work together to bring back glory to Ishgard.

The Ishgard Restoration content is the biggest piece of news. It requires players across the game to collaborate through various means to restore and revitalize the Holy See of Ishgard.

Ishgard is located in the snowfields of Coerthas. The city-state became accessible as part of the Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward expansion.

According to Square Enix, players “will work together to restore the Firmament district to its former glory.” They will achieve this through “collecting and crafting construction materials or completing various tasks.” Players who contribute will receive various rewards for their contributions.

Patch 5.11 also adds the ultimate difficulty raid, “The Epic of Alexander.” There are also new mounts, minions, emotes, house furnishings, hairstyles, and more.

The new raid is inspired by the tragic tale of a mechanical god who placed his trust in a single mortal soul, the latest Ultimate difficulty raid will push even the most skilled players to their limits as they battle many foes from the Alexander raid series.

Players new to Final Fantasy XIV Online can download a free trial to access content up to level 35. You can create up to eight playable characters and experience the different playable races, classes, and jobs with no restrictions on playtime.

The Shadowbringers expansion is available on PC and PS4. As mentioned on Game Deals 365, the PS4 version is on sale right now for $33.99.
