Five new games increase the catalog of available Sega Genesis games to 19.
Nintendo and Sega have revealed five new games to be added to the Switch Online Expansion Pack. After adding in October this year a new tier to its Switch Online service with Sega Genesis games, the catalog has grown again with games like Altered Beast, ToeJam & Earl, and more.
New Genesis games coming to Switch
Nintendo rolled out the higher tier of its Switch Online service in October, which added Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis games to the existing offerings of NES and SNES titles, as well as cloud storage for save data and the option to play online multiplayer games.
With a trailer on YouTube, we were presented with the five new titles with separate gameplays where we can not only see the essence of the games of this classic Sega console but the work of “remastering” or adaptation to current technology that has been done in each of these titles.
The five titles added are:
- Altered Beast
- ToeJam & Earl
- Dynamite Headdy
- Sword of Vermilion
- Thunder Force II
Nintendo and Sega are still working to add more titles to the available catalog of the Switch Online Expansion Pack. Although the genesis does not have a large catalog like the NES or SNES, it is likely that we will continue to see new titles in the coming months.
