Former Nintendo of America head Reggie Fils-Aime joins GameStop

Reggie Fils-Aime

Last year, long-time Nintendo of America executive Reggie Fils-Aime retired. Or at least that’s what we thought. He’s back in the industry, this time at GameStop.

The new role for the former Nintendo of America president is not a C-suite management position. Instead, he’ll serve on GameStop’s board of directors. Former Walmart US CEO William Simon and current PetSmart president and CEO James Symancyk are also joining GameStop’s board.

“We are pleased to welcome Reggie, Bill and J.K. to the Board. They are each highly qualified and bring significant, relevant experience to our turnaround,” GameStop CEO George Sherman said.

During his tenure at Nintendo, Reggie helped launch four highly successful systems: Nintendo DS, Wii, 3DS, and Switch. As the face of Nintendo of America, Reggie was well-known and liked by fans. He often presented the company’s products during numerous E3 appearances.
