Forza Horizon 5 supports 4K, Performance Mode at 60fps, crossplay, and cross-save

Forza Horizon 5

Forza Horizon 5 was only just announced this week during E3 2021. The presentation left out some key details like the game’s resolution, frame rate, and crossplay.

In a new FAQ, the developers added some details left out of the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase. For instance, the game runs at 4K resolution at 30 frames per second on Xbox Series X. If you’re playing on an Xbox Series X, the game runs at 1080p at 30fps. Both platforms have a Performance Mode that boosts the frame rate to 60fps.

Xbox Series X|S enabled us to provide players the most technologically advanced Forza Horizon experience yet. The power of the Xbox Series consoles has enabled us to deliver incredible realism and immersion with a world rendered in higher detail and with extreme draw distances. Forza Horizon 5 runs at 4K 30 FPS on Xbox Series X, and 1080p 30 FPS on Xbox Series S. For players that prefer to optimize for framerate, we are providing a performance mode option that will run at 60 FPS.

Forza Support Team

In addition, the developers confirmed that the game supports crossplay for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. So you can play with friends no matter what platform they are on. Plus, you can bring save data from one platform to the other with cross-save support. So if you start on Xbox One, for instance, your data will follow you to Xbox Series X. And if you’re wondering, the game also supports Smart Delivery.

If you missed the news at E3, Forza Horizon 5 is set in Mexico. Microsoft is calling this the “largest and most diverse world ever” in the Forza Horizon series. The game launches on November 9 on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. It’s a Day One Xbox Game Pass title.

My Take

This is my most-anticipated game coming to the Series X. Simply put, it looks stunning – and if it’s anything like past Horizon games, it will play equally well.
