Forza Motorsport 7 getting removed from Microsoft Store and Xbox Game Pass

Forza Motorsport 7

Microsoft confirms that Forza Motorsport 7 is about to reach “end of life status.” Starting on September 15, the game is getting de-listed from the Microsoft Store.

What does that mean for gamers? You will not be able to play the game on Xbox Game Pass or purchase the game or any of the DLC through the Microsoft Store as of 9/15/21. Anyone who already owns the game can still play and download the full game along with all of the associated DLC. Online services will also continue.

“For any Xbox Game Pass players who previously purchased DLC for the game, but not the game itself, we have good news,” Microsoft says. “You will receive a token for the game through the Xbox Message Center so that you can continue playing Forza Motorsport 7. Token distribution will be through August 2. However, if after that date you have not received your token, please contact Xbox Support here. (Unused tokens will expire on September 15, 2023.)”

Microsoft did not provide a reason for the removal, although it is presumably due to licensing issues. If you want to grab a copy of Forza Motorsport 7 before it gets removed from the online store, Microsoft Store has the game on sale for $9.99 through September 15.
