Three major current-gen games are getting optimized versions on Xbox Series X: Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, and Sea of Thieves.
The news was tucked at the end of the Xbox Games Showcase. But it doesn’t make the news less significant since Microsoft is pushing both backward compatibility, Smart Delivery, and enhanced Xbox One games as key parts of their strategy.
In addition, the three games will be eligible for free next-gen upgrades. Microsoft previously confirmed Gears 5 as supporting Smart Delivery. However, this is the first that we’ve heard about Forza Horizon 4 and Sea of Thieves supporting it.
“You’ll get the next-gen upgrades at no additional cost when they launch,” said Matt Booty, head of Xbox Game Studios.
