God of War Ragnarok Photo Mode now available to download

God of War Ragnarök Photo Mode is out now

Snap photos as you traverse the world of God of War Ragnarök.

PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 gamers got a nice surprise today. Santa Monica Studio has announced that there’s a free God of War Ragnarok Photo Mode update out now. It adds a brand new Photo Mode to the game.

According to Grace Orlady, the Lead Community Manager at Santa Monica Studio, the new mode adds a number of neat new features for would-be digital photographers. For instance, you can apply expressions to characters in a scene including Kratos, Atreus, Freya, Brok, Sindri, Angrboda, Thor, and Thrúd.

In addition, you can hide main or side characters in a scene, adjust camera controls, adjust shutter controls, adjust brightness, and apply filters, vignettes, borders, and logos. So it sounds like you have plenty of options to creatively customize your creations.

Here’s what Sony Santa Monica is saying via the official PlayStation Blog:

Since the release of photo mode in God of War (2018), we’ve been continuously amazed by the amount of talent and passion in the Video Game Photographer community that has gathered to the game.

From quiet moments with Kratos and Atreus, to the elegant and brutal combat shots with ice and fire flying – the range of the photographers who take shots in God of War has been a constant source of inspiration for our team.

With this latest update to God of War Ragnarök, we’re happy to finally be able to give you all access to Photo Mode in this game as well!

God of War Ragnarök launched last month. You can buy it now on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The game has sold 5.1 million copies and is one of the highest-rated games of 2022.
