Grand Theft Auto Indictments May Be Coming

We’ve been reporting on the Hot Coffee controversy with Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PlayStation 2, PC and Xbox) ever since it “spilled over” in the media so to speak. We reported on Monday that a grand jury subpoenaed documents issued by the District Attorney of New York. It appears now that indictments are possible.

Michael Pachter of Wedbush Morgan explains that “Grand Jury subpoenas are founded in criminal investigations” and that “we believe it is likely that one or more Take Two employees may be subject to a potential criminal indictment.” Pacther told MCV that, “It is impossible to speculate what the specific charges may be given the broad scope of the subpoenas, but we think that there is likely ‘probable cause’ for the New York DA’s office to seek such subpoenas.”
