This mod, which has been in development for months, allows you to play the entire Half-Life: Alyx campaign without VR, adapting the controls, interfaces, animations, and interactions to the classic FPS style. It also opens up the possibility to play the game on Steam Deck. Something unthinkable to be possible due to the limitations of the console. Or even worse, it does not have the possibility of using VR glasses.
The Half-Life Alyx NoVR mod can be downloaded for free from its ModDB profile, where you’ll also find instructions for installing and configuring it. The mod is in early access, which means that it still has some bugs and aspects to improve. But, you can already complete the game from start to finish without problems.
The creators of the mod have published a video on YouTube where they show the gameplay of the game without VR, and the truth is that it looks very good. The mod respects the original design of the game but adds some options to facilitate the gameplay with a keyboard and mouse.
