Halo 3: ODST Headed to Master Chief Collection

After all the launch and post-launch woes that were experienced by online players of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Microsoft has announced it will be bringing another installment of the series to the re-made collection – Halo 3: ODST.

Bonnie Ross of 343 Industries was pretty straightforward about the issues with Master Chief Collection:

The satisfaction and joy of our fans is absolutely critical to everyone at 343 Industries and we regret the issues and the frustration you have endured. We are truly sorry and thank you for your continued patience and support of the Halo franchise. [This is] a humbling experience and highlighted how we as a studio can — and need — to do better for Xbox fans around the world.

Owners of Halo: The Master Chief Collection are eligible for several freebies as an apology from both 343 Industries and Microsoft. Players that logged into the game between its release (November 11) and today, December 19, will be granted one free month of Xbox Live Gold.

Additionally you’ll receive an in-game nameplate and in-game avatar, both exclusive to such players. Finally, the Relic map will be added to Halo 2’s multiplayer.

Unfortunately, the Firefight mode from ODST will not be part of this re-make – just the campaign will be re-made for Xbox One.
