Sony’s CES 2022 presentation was full of announcements. This new VR game from Horizon is a total surprise.
Horizon Call of the Mountain, the first game announced exclusively for the new PlayStation VR2 virtual reality headset for PlayStation 5 that had its specs revealed today, has been announced by PlayStation Studios. The project is being co-developed by Guerrilla Games, the makers of Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West, and Firesprite, the virtual reality firm that Sony purchased last September.
Horizon Call of the Mountain is built in first person. For the first time in the story, we will control a character who is not Aloy. Jan-Bart van Beek, director of Guerrilla, stated that the protagonist of the game will be revealed shortly.
The video portrays the adventure’s protagonist having a boat trip on a jungle river with two other characters. The nearly pastoral moment is broken by the presence of one of Horizon Zero Dawn‘s most renowned robotic creatures, which crosses the protagonist’s path.
We hope to learn more about this unique and thrilling Guerrilla game shortly. Something we can appreciate is the enhancements of the new PSVR2 headset in combination with the PS5. We can see a lot of detail and greenery that is a step ahead of other VR titles on PS4.
