Insomniac teases possible Resistance reboot or remaster

Insomniac Games tweeted out a random image of Resistance 2 on Monday in a possible tease for a remake or remaster.

Resistance 2 was released back in 2008 on the PS3. There’s no obvious reason to send out a tweet about the game unless they were planning on reviving the shooter for modern consoles.

The Resistance series was one of the best shooters on PS3. Resistance 2 was particularly good with both unique online co-op missions and a single-player story.

The last Resistance game on consoles was 2011’s Resistance 3 on PS3. The PlayStation Vita saw a Resistance game released back in 2012. In other words, it’s been a while. A re-release of the entire trilogy would undoubtedly be welcomed by fans.

Insomniac CEO Ted Price has previously stated that Insomniac “won’t be making any more Resistance games.” That position, of course, can be reversed. It also leaves room open for another company to pick up the torch.

This tweet seems to suggest that they at least haven’t forgotten about the franchise. We’ll have to wait to see if it amounts to anything.
