Is the Swarm of Flies incantation still good in Elden Ring?

Is the Swarm of Flies incantation in Elden Ring still as good as before its power was nerfed in a patch? We will go over why it’s still good and where you can find the Swarm of Flies incantation in this article.

Why it’s still good

This incantation uses one Memory Slot and it uses only 14 FP to cast. When cast, it releases a Swarm of Bloodflies that will chase after foes and deal physical damage, and also build up Blood Loss. When you combine melee attacks with this incantation, it’s very easy to keep the enemy overwhelmed. And with a few casts of the Swarm of Flies, your enemy is sure to hemorrhage blood.

The nerf is exactly that: the blood loss buildup is now reduced to a great degree. But you can still justify using this incantation because of its relatively low usage of FP and how it uses only one Memory Slot. Its skill requirements are also very reasonable. It requires 11 in Faith and 16 in Arcane.

In my opinion, this incantation is best for a build that combines Strength/Dexterity and relies on incantations as support spells. While many sources don’t say this, my testing confirmed that this incantation also deals Fire damage, on top of the physical and Bleed damage it already deals. This means that it’s the perfect Incantation for fights against the Fingercreepers or even bosses like Malenia.
