It’s launch day for Nintendo Switch Lite and Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening

Today is a big day for Nintendo fans! The handheld-only Nintendo Switch Lite, Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, and several new Amiibos all launch today.

Nintendo Switch Lite was announced back in July as a smaller, more affordable, and handheld-only model of the company’s popular Switch. At $199, you’ll save a hundred bucks over the original handheld/console hybrid model, but you’ll be sacrificing the ability to connect to your television set.

For some people, that might not be a big deal. And more likely than not – given Nintendo’s immense success with the Game Boy and DS lines of handhelds – there are a lot of people who will want one, especially parents looking to save some money.

Of course, if you’re a Pokémon fan and you can wait until November, you can get the Nintendo Switch Lite Pokémon Sword & Shield Limited Edition instead. Just sayin’!

Launching alongside the Switch Lite is the latest Legend of Zelda game. Link’s Awakening is a remake of the Game Boy classic. This is the first Legend of Zelda game to be released exclusively on Switch. Be sure to read our preview to find out what to expect from the new Switch game.

Lastly, Nintendo is releasing four new Amiibos today. They include Snake, Ivysaur, Squirtle, and a Link’s Awakening-themed Link Amiibo.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go check my bank account balance.
