The DS’ enormous 80,000 unit sales of last week have led to a cool-down period this week, with 57,313 in sales, a large drop from last week. The system still maintains a healthy lead over all systems, with a nearly 3-to-1 lead over the PSP for yet another week. While DS sales accounted for 48.04% of overall hardware sales, they do not account for a majority like the past two weeks. Combined unit sales with the GBA SP and GBA put Nintendo handheld hardware at 57.93% market share, a decline from last week’s 61.58%, and 65.17% from two weeks ago. Meanwhile, the PS2 maintains its traditional role of market leader with approximately 91% console hardware market share for the week.
