Jet Set Radio HD Confirmed for Summer 2012
After teasing the HD re-release of Jet Set Radio last week, Sega has finally confirmed that its cult Dreamcast classic will be available this summer on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and PC.

The news was posted on the official Sega blog, confirming the “upgraded HD version of Jet Set Radio“. In case you are not familiar with Jet Set Radio (also known as Jet Grind Radio), the publisher breaks it down:
“Jet Set Radio lets players join the GGs, an up-and-coming street gang in the futuristic city of Tokyo-to, fighting for the right to self-expression against an overbearing, corporate-controlled police force.
Rolling and leaping through crowded urban environments on magnetically driven inline skates, players take control of gang leader Beat and his growing posse of deviant artists as they steal turf from the local gangs by covering the city with colourful graffiti.
Guided by Professor K, DJ for the hottest pirate broadcast in town – ‘Jet Set Radio’ – the GGs will ultimately uncover the sinister plot hatched by the controlling powers of Tokyo-to.”

The Sega blog also mentions a contest that lets fans design one of 18 new pieces of graffiti art that will be featured in the game. The winning entrants will get a prize pack containing a Rukus (basically a solar-powered Bluetooth sound system) and some other goodies, not to mention their artwork being featured in a video game.
