Kaze and the Wild Masks coming to consoles; Xbox One demo goes live July 21

Kaze and the Wild Masks

The ’90s-inspired platformer Kaze and the Wild Masks has been confirmed for consoles. Plus, starting July 21, a demo will be available as part of the Xbox One Summer Game Fest.

According to publisher Soedesco, Kaze and the Wild Masks is coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One. The game was previously announced last year for PC via Steam.

The game features hand-animated pixel-art graphics. Players experience classic side-scrolling action, taking on the role of a fierce rabbit as the protagonist. Besides running and jumping, you can acquire masks and utilize the masks’ powers to perform special abilities.

The retro-inspired platformer comes from Brazilian development studio Pixel Hive. The company’s CEO, André Schaan, says that the studio always had a console version of the game, even in early development.

Kaze and the Wild Masks embraces all the classic ’90s platformer elements,” Schaan says. “And we believe that both the Steam and console versions will truly complement the game in their own way. We can’t wait to bring nostalgic, yet modern-looking gameplay to today’s consoles.”

However, a release date is TBD. We’ll provide more information as it becomes available.
