Konami Ships Steel Horizon for Nintendo DS

All hands on deck! Konami today announced it has shipped Steel Horizon for the Nintendo DS to retail stores nationwide. An original World War II naval strategy game that blends turn-based and real-time elements, Steel Horizon lets players assemble their own fearsome armada and use advanced maritime tactics to rule the seas and discover the mysterious truth behind the origins of the war.

Steel Horizon gives players full control over a fleet of high-powered warships as they travel across the high seas to engage in battle. With battleships, destroyers, submarines, aircraft carriers and more at their disposal, players are given an incredible degree of flexibility in customizing their fleet. As each ship controls and attacks differently, players can strategize to counter any enemy formation, using submarines to launch surprise attacks or pounding away from a distance with the 18″ batteries of a battleship. Using a unique combination of real-time and turn-based gameplay elements, ships can be moved at regular intervals or individually at any time for further control over the battle plan. As they progress through the game’s single player story mode, virtual admirals will learn more about the origins of the war and discover that the Axis alone may not be the biggest threat to world freedom.
