To celebrate the launch of GoldenEye 007 on Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch, I am going to play the entire game over the next month. At the moment, I am playing on 00 Agent difficulty, although I may switch to a different difficulty setting in later levels. The videos will not feature any commentary so that you can enjoy the game as if you were playing it yourself. If you haven’t seen our previous videos, we recommend that you watch the beginning of the game.
Let’s Play GoldenEye on Xbox Bunker 1 Level
Today, we are focused on the Bunker level. This level draws inspiration from the scene in the film set in Severnaya, Russia. In the game, James Bond travels to Siberia to access the bunker where the goldeneye satellite is controlled.
Playing on 00 Agent, the mission objectives are:
- Disrupt all surveillance equipment
- Copy GoldenEye key and leave original
- Get personnel to activate computer
- Download data from computer
- Photograph main video screen
In the Xbox version of the game, you can unlock the achievement Shooting Cameras for 20 Gamerscore. All you have to do is complete the Surface level on any difficulty setting.
Tips for the Bunker 1 Level
This is the second level in Severnaya, Russia. We will return to this area later in the game, but let’s focus on this stage for now. The first thing that you will want to do is silently kill the guards in the rooms directly in front and behind you at the start of the level.
There’s also a security camera in the room behind you, so make sure to quickly take it out or it will set off the alarm. You’ll need to look out for security cameras throughout the level. Destroy all of them as this is one of the 00 Agent objectives. In addition, there is another camera around the corner from the computer room and behind the glass on the far side of the main control room. Again, if you do not take these out, you are going to set off the alarm, which will make your task a lot more difficult as a never-ending wave of reinforcements descends on you.
A few more tips: do not kill the civilian computer programmer in the main control room. His name is Boris; he is wearing glasses with an orange t-shirt. Point your gun at him to get him to take you to the mainframe to download data from the computer. You will also want to grab the goldeneye key while you are in here and copy it with the key analyzer. Also, take a photograph of the main video screen.
Once you reach the mainframe with Boris, he will trigger an alarm. Select the datathief from the menu, walk up to the mainframe, and press the right trigger to activate it. It will say “Downloading Data” and take a few seconds; at this point, all of your objectives are complete. Get ready as elite guards start to stream into the bunker. You finish the level when you exit the bunker from the main control room and go up the stairs out into the Siberian tundra.
