Let’s Play GoldenEye on Xbox Silo Level

Today, we are focused on the Silo level. This is the first level that does not actually appear in the movie at all. It takes place at a Soviet missile silo in Kirghizstan. Your goal is to stop a test launch of missiles by planting explosives throughout the silo.

Playing on 00 Agent, the mission objectives are:

  • Photograph Satellite
  • Minimize Scientist Casualties
  • Obtain Telemetric Data
  • Retrieve Satellite Circuitry
  • Plant Bombs in Fuel Rooms

In the Xbox version of the game, you can unlock the achievement Old-School Rockets for 20 Gamerscore. All you have to do is complete the Silo level on any difficulty setting.

Tips for the Silo Level

The most important thing to remember is that you need to plant the plastique explosives in each of the fuel rooms. It’s easy to forget about this as you fight your way through the silo. The fuel rooms have computer terminals in them. You will place the explosives on the wall. As you enter, look for a large brown pillar on the right side of the room.

The first three fuel rooms have circuit boards that are laying on tables and computers. Make sure to grab all of them. You will find the telemetric data from a scientist in the third fuel room. Point your gun at him and he will drop the data. Actually, point your gun at all of the scientists when you run across them as they often drop keycards that you will need to open doors. However, do not kill the scientists (the guys in white) as this will cause the mission to fail.

There are a lot of enemies scattered throughout this level, but there is plenty of cover opportunities too. Hide behind doors and crates to avoid enemy fire. Also, be careful as the enemies tend to clump. The enemy in front will often act as a shield for the others.
