Lode Runner Legacy launches on PS4

Lode Runner Legacy

Lode Runner Legacy is now available worldwide on PS4 via the PlayStation Store.

As we previously noted, the original Lode Runner was first released in 1983 for Apple II, Atari XL/XE, MSX, and Commodore 64. It spawned sequels on numerous platforms, including arcade, home console, handheld, mobile, and PC.

Lode Runner Legacy updates the classic game for current systems while “maintaining the spirit of the original.” Legacy is the first Lode Runner series game released in North America on a Sony console since Lode Runner Extra in 1997. That was on the original PlayStation.

In this latest game, players control the Runner, solving puzzles to regain stolen gold from the Evil Empire’s labyrinth. The game also features a two-player mode and a level editor.

Legacy is available at a 20 percent discount in the North American PlayStation Store until February 11. After that, it will retail for $11.99. It was previously released on PC and Nintendo Switch.
