Lost Judgment announced as sequel to Sega’s Yakuza spin-off

The Japanese PlayStation Store had leaked the news. Now it is verified. The next episode of the Yakuza spinoff series, Judgment, is titled Lost Judgment.
The announcement was made via a live stream and the Japanese company’s Twitter account. Sega demonstrated the gameplay of the title and elaborated on various details during the live stream.
We once again assume command of Takayuki Yagami, our former prosecutor turned detective on the streets of Kamurocho. As with the 2019 PS4 title, we’ll have to solve a case full of mystery and murder.
Lost Judgment and Yakuza series executive director Toshihiro Nagoshi said the game “will expand on Yagami’s story as he deals with the fallout from a guilty verdict handed down in Japanese court.”
Do you have what it takes to solve the perfect crime?
According to Yagami’s Japanese voice actor, Takuya Kimura, the game’s main character will not only have to deal with a gruesome crime, but he will also have to go undercover at a nearby high school, which will make for several narrative elements, including humor.
Lost Judgment takes place in two locations: Tokyo’s Kamurocho and Yokohama. Kazuki Hosokawa, the game’s developer, described Yokohama as a living city that changes from day tonight. It’s also the location of Lost Judgment‘s high school. Hosokawa said that the team designed the school’s classrooms, hallways, faculty offices, and gym in great detail.

Yagami also has a combat update featuring various battle styles: Crane, Tiger, and Snake. Investigations are still progressing; Yagami now has new stealth and traversal options when looking for clues. Maybe Yagami’s best trick will be undercover at the nearby high school, where he will box, dance, and skateboard with the Yokohama teenagers.
Hosokawa dubs these missions “School Stories.” The side missions are “full of laughter, tears, struggles, and maybe even a little suspense.”
Release date
Lost Judgment launches globally on September 24, 2021 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
