Venom is a strong Vanguard who can dish out tons of damage. He can swing and zip into action like most dive characters take out enemies in the backlines. He is also a tank who can absorb all forms punishment and come back from it like it is no problem. We’ll teach you how to do all the strong moves in this guide with some pro tips sprinkled throughout.

Overview of Venom’s Abilities

To master Venom, you’ll first have to learn how his abilities function. Each ability leans into the perfect symbiote’s mastery of his skills as the Lethal Protector.

Dark Predation

Venom’s Dark Predation (Normal Attack) allows him to use his symbiote tendrils to lash out at enemies within range. This ability can strike multiple foes, delivering delayed damage as each tendril reaches its target. The delay makes it particularly effective for hitting enemies who are spread out, dealing with crowds, or hitting multiple targets at once.

His ability to attack from a distance makes him a potent threat in both close-range and mid-range combat. The flexibility in this attack makes it an essential tool for controlling space and ensuring enemies are constantly pressured.

Pro Tip: Dark Predation is not a melee attack like Spider-Man’s Spider Power punches. Dark Predation does more damage when you can hit headshots with it and can delete an enemy in two bursts.

Cellular Corrosion

His Cellular Corrosion (Right Mouse Button) has a dual-purpose effect: slowing down enemies in the area of effect and dealing damage. This is particularly useful for crowd control, as it impairs enemy mobility, allowing Venom to set up other attacks or escape unfavorable situations.

If enemies remain within the area for too long, they will suffer significant damage, which helps Venom control the pace of the battle and wear down enemies over time. This ability, combined with his other attacks, creates a synergy that allows him to control the flow of combat effectively.

Pro Tip: Venom can use Cellular Corrosion to hold his enemy in place while doing overtime damage and slowing them down. On top of that, Dark Predation does more damage while Cellular Corrosion is in effect.

Venom Swing

The Venom Swing (Left Shift) grants Venom excellent mobility, enabling him to launch a web forward and swing in the direction of his choice. This ability allows him to quickly reposition, whether to engage an enemy, avoid incoming attacks, or chase down fleeing targets.

It also gives him a tactical advantage, allowing him to easily move across the battlefield to avoid danger or take strategic positions. The quick movement enables him to stay mobile, making him a more unpredictable and difficult target for his foes.

Pro Tip: Turn off Easy Swing to unlock a whole new freedom of movement. You can do way more using your swing and reach places you did not know that you could.

Symbiotic Resilience

Symbiotic Resilience (E) showcases Venom’s resilience, allowing him to regenerate bonus health when taking damage. The ability becomes more powerful as his health decreases, offering him a self-sustaining edge in extended fights.

It provides him with a safety net, ensuring that he can survive longer and potentially turn the tide of battle in his favor. This passive healing makes Venom durable, allowing him to endure longer in combat, which is crucial in high-stakes battles where survival is paramount.

Pro Tip: Symbiotic Resilience is better used when you are closer to dying or your health is very low. The lower your health, the more regen you get. So make sure to save it up for the last, LAST minute. It gets you regen higher than your full 800 health.

Frenzied Arrival

Frenzied Arrival (F, In Air) lets Venom use his symbiote to dash quickly to a targeted location from mid-air. Upon landing, he damages and knocks back any nearby enemies, disrupting their positioning and causing chaos.

This ability is especially powerful in team fights, as it can disorient enemies and create openings for other characters to capitalize on. Venom’s ability to rapidly close gaps in the air makes him a formidable opponent who can strike unexpectedly.

Pro Tip: Frenzied Arrival does an AOE damage, yes, but it does way more damage if you hit your enemies by landing right on top of them. The closer you are to them, the more damage you will do.

Feast of the Abyss

Lastly, Venom’s Feast of the Abyss (Q) allows him to burrow underground and move freely, gaining the element of surprise. This ability can be used to outmaneuver opponents, position for a surprise attack, or escape from dangerous situations.

When Venom emerges, he damages enemies above him and heals himself based on the enemy’s health. This mechanic not only makes him a more dangerous foe but also reinforces his self-sustaining nature by providing him with health regeneration. The ability to heal while dealing damage makes him a strong choice for prolonged engagements.

Touch of Klyntar

His Touch of Klyntar (Passive) grants Venom a symbiotic connection with Spider-Man and Peni Parker. This passive ability allows Venom’s symbiote to activate special spikes on their bodies, which explode and deal damage to nearby enemies while pushing them back.

The shared symbiote also provides an additional bonus of +150 max health, further increasing Venom’s overall durability. This team synergy adds depth to his character, making him even more effective when working with allies, while also contributing to his theme of the unstoppable symbiote.

The Best Venom Strategy

Using all of Venom’s abilities in unison you can become unstoppable. You can dive into your enemy’s back line by swinging far into their region. Then jump into battle using Frenzied Arrival to throw the healers into disarray. Use Cellular Corrosion to trap any agile healers and whittle them down using Dark Predation.

If you get punished for that and your health is running out, press E to use Symbiotic Resilience gain all your health back, and continue the bullying. If your health is down again and do not have your E back from cooldown, Venom Swing away from the action, get healed, and come back into the fight. This is by far the best tactic Venom users implement and it is always guaranteed to get you results!
