Marvel Rivals, despite following a formula that is familiar in many other hero-shooter games, has brought several new features that are fresh and haven’t been seen before in the industry. A lot of these include unique abilities for the heroes, blending their well-known super powers seamlessly into the gameplay.
But we’re here to talk about the feature known as ‘team-ups’ and see which ones provide the most benefits to the entire team. If you’re not familiar with how this function works at all, don’t worry because we’ll be explaining that as well.

What are Team-Ups in Marvel Rivals?
Team-ups are additional perks or abilities that a character can have, but only if two or more specific characters are on the team. For example, a notable one is Symbiote Bond, which activates if Venom is on the same team as either Peni Parker or Spider Man.
There are a lot of these available, and it’s very fun to experiment with how each ability works, especially if you’re playing with a friend. It also encourages people to try out new characters or try out different team-up harmonies in the meta.
It’s important to keep in mind that not all the characters in the combination will get a new ability. Usually one of the characters will remain the same while the other one or two characters gets the extra ability.
Voltaic Union (Captain America, Thor, Storm)
As the name suggests, Voltaic Union lets Thor infuse the Thorforce into Captain America or Storm. In the case of Storm, her electric powers get amplified and let her unleash a lightning barrage with the Thorforce.
On the other hand, Captain America gains the ability to shock enemies with his shield now, akin to the comics. Not to mention, his movement abilities are enhanced, letting you zoom around the map faster!
Ragnarok Rebirth (Hela, Loki, Thor)
Another one with Thor on the team is Ragnarok Rebirth. But this time, Loki and Thori tap into the powers of Hela, using her Queen of Hel passive ability. When Hela kills one of her opponents, she will be able to resurrect either Thor or Loki, given that they are dead at the time.
But if they’re alive, they will be granted bonus health, so it’s a boon no matter what situation you’re in. Since all three of these heroes are extremely strong right now, it makes this team up incredibly powerful and quite favorable in the competitive meta.
Symbiote Bond (Peni Parker, Venom, Spider Man)
Perhaps a team up that is more or less expected, especially if you’re an avid follower of the comic books, is the one between Venom and Peni Parker or Spider Man. The Symbiote Bond lets Venom assimilate his symbiotic power with either Peni or Spider Man, allowing both of them to unleash explosive spikes to deal damage to the enemy or fend them off for a certain period of time.
This team up is rather simple in terms of mechanics, but it’s extremely useful for finishing off enemies that are low, or stalling them during overtime. This is especially applicable for Spider Man, since he can use his combos to delete the enemies’ health and if there’s a bit remaining, he can simply activate the Venom powers to finish them off.
Guardian Revival (Star-Lord, Adam Warlock, Mantis)
In this team up combo, Adam Warlock grants Star-Lord and Mantis regeneration abilities with cocooned revival. This lets them jump immediately back into the fight, supporting their teams without any delays.
This team up is very commonly seen in Marvel Rivals, especially because Adam and Mantis are both very good support characters who are usually seen played together.
Dimensional Shortcut (Magik, Black Panther, Psylocke)
An overlooked team combo is the one between Magik, Black Panther and Psylocke. In this harmony, Magik enables her dimensional travel ability and allows Black Panther or Psylocke to be able to use it as well. This allows either of them to rewind time up to a few seconds, returning them to their relative position. For people who played Overwatch, it’s the exact same as how Tracer’s ability works. You’ll also get back your health in a similar fashion.
Fastball Special (Hulk, Wolverine)
One of the most hilarious team combos is the Fastball Special, where Hulk lets Wolverine rest on his shoulder and can literally throw him like a fastball, sending Logan flying into the map. This lets Logan close in distances really fast, and especially catch enemies that are constantly in the air, like Iron Man or Storm.
As funny as it looks, this is one of the most widely used team combos and we highly recommend trying it out.
Atlas Bond (Iron Fist, Luna Snow)
Iron Fist can tap into the Chi of Shou-Lao and grant it to Luna Snow, who can assimilate it with her icy powers to create an explosion that can knock back enemies. Not to mention, it’ll also heal her as soon as she uses it so it’s a very good tool to use when you’re under pressure from a lot of enemies or if you need that extra heal to clutch up.
Gamma Charge (Iron Man, Hulk, Doctor Strange)
The Gamma Charge is probably the best team-up in the game right now thanks to how powerful it is. It also helps that all three of the characters are pretty damn strong. When this team-up is active, Hulk can channel his Gamma energy so that Iron Man and Doctor Strange can use it with their powers.
Iron Man can amplify his Armor Overdrive even more, increasing his damage output for up to 10 seconds.
And on the other hand, it’ll change Strange’s Maelstrom of Madness and infuse it with Gamma radiation, allowing him to release the energy with higher damage as well.
That concludes this article on the best team-up combinations you can pull off in Marvel Rivals. The cool thing about this feature is that more of these team-ups will start to appear the more characters that Rival announces, so it’ll always be fun debating on what could come next or which set of heroes could team up in the future. Stay tuned!
