The two games, which are already in development, will revive some of Taito’s franchises.
Microids announced today that, following extensive negotiations, they had secured a deal with the renowned Japanese firm, Taito, to develop two titles based on the Japanese company’s long-standing brands.
Microids continues to expand
These two games, which will be created by significant industry players, are set to hit the market next year. The goal of this deal for Microids is to add additional games to its portfolio of big developers, as well as to grow the firm into other areas across the world, in this case, expanding Microids into the enormous market of Japan.
Mr. Katsuhiko Iwaki, President and Representative Director of Taito Corporation, stated that the Japanese firm is certain that the French company would do an excellent job of resurrecting two Taito brands that fans would welcome the return of.
“Microids international development strategy is going strong and we are proud to collaborate with Taito.” Said Stéphane Longeard, CEO of Microids.
“We are delighted the Japanese giant fully entrusted us with the development of these titles. We cannot wait to unveil the two projects we’re working on and we strongly believe they will surprise a lot of people!” he added.
