Microsoft Boosts Xbox 360 Production

Microsoft said today that shipments have been boosted this week to meet demand for their Xbox 360 video game console. The announcement comes just a week after the PlayStation 3 was delayed until November 2006, but was planned several months ago. Modest sales of 2.75 to 3 million units were originally expected in the first 90 days, but that was reduced to 2.5 million amid supply issues. Shares of Microsoft were down today on the news that Windows Vista would not launch for consumers until January 2007.
