Yesterday Microsoft ended support for the original Xbox. While the system has been out of production since 2006, which launched Microsoft’s foray into video game consoles in 2001, the original Xbox will no longer be serviced for repair by the company as of March 2, 2009.
If your system is still under warranty, Microsoft has a solution for you. “If you have an Original Xbox console that is in Warranty that requires a repair, you will be able to submit an exchange request for an upgrade to an Xbox 360 gaming console online,” a statement says on their website. Pricing details on the upgrade are not disclosed.
