Microsoft reveals Xbox Series X|S streaming apps

Xbox Series X|S streaming apps

Microsoft has announced new details on the streaming options for Xbox Series X and S.

“We know our players love to catch up on the latest shows or listen to their favorite artists on their Xbox consoles when they aren’t gaming,” Will Tuttle writes for Microsoft. “At Xbox, our goal is to make the transition from playing games and streaming media on Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S as seamless as possible.”

Here are some of the apps that are available at launch:

  • Netflix
  • Disney+
  • HBO Max
  • Spotify
  • YouTube
  • YouTube TV
  • Amazon Prime Video
  • Hulu
  • Apple TV
  • Peacock
  • Vudu
  • Fandango Now
  • Twitch
  • Sky Go
  • Sky Ticket

So far at least, the Xbox Series X|S app lineup is stronger than the PlayStation 5. Sony revealed a limited number of streaming apps for PS5 at launch, although you’re good if you watch Netflix and Disney+. Hulu and Amazon Prime Video will be available at a later date on PS5.

Both the Xbox Series X and S launch on November 10. We’ll continue to have regular Xbox Series X launch news in the lead-up to launch day. So stay tuned!
