Microsoft Sued Over Xbox 360

Microsoft said Wednesday that it was reviewing the details of a lawsuit brought against it by Lucent Technologoies in the U.S. District Court of San Diego on March 28. Lucent claims that Microsoft infringed on three patents with their Xbox 360 hardware. The company is demanding damages and that the system be taken off of the market. IGN is reporting that the dispute is over the Xbox 360’s MPEG2 decoder, used for some of the console’s video functions, which Lucent is claiming violates their patent.
