Microsoft Targets PS3 w/ Halo 3
Microsoft chairman Bill Gates seemingly confirmed in an interview with Time Magazine that Halo 3 would be released to the masses at the time of the PlayStation 3 launch. This of course has been rumored for some time, but keep in mind, it took Halo over two years of development time.
“Note to the hard-core faithful: the next version of Halo will not, repeat not, be ready in time for the launch of Xbox 360. It will be part of the all-important second wave next spring.”, says Gates. “It’s perfect, the day Sony launches, and they walk right into Halo 3.'”
If the release were to coincide with the PlayStation 3 next year, that would mean game development would only be about 1.5 years, a considerably low amount for such a high-profile game, that until now, wasn’t even known to be in development. Another possibility is Microsoft is bluffing, and will end up delaying the Halo 3 launch to drum up hype, as they did several times with Halo 2.
