Hacking group Lulz Security (aka LulzSec) has taken responsibility for taking down Minecraft’s servers and website. “Just sunk the Minecraft login server, looks like their website also got hit from overkill: http://t.co/E3QnDYm not even firing at the site,” they posted on their Twitter account.
The group of hackers also targeted distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks on Eve Online, League of Legends, and The Escapist magazine. They have previously attempted DDoS attacks on Nintendo and Sony, as well as the United States Senate, PBS and Sony Pictures.
