Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

An exciting new storyline along with new content has been shown in the new Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak trailer.

Following its successful launch on the Nintendo Switch earlier this year, Capcom revealed a new teaser for Monster Hunter Rise‘s next expansion, Sunbreak, yesterday during the Nintendo Direct.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak will have an entirely new tale with additional creatures, as well as new settings, gameplay features, mission types, and more. The action-packed expansion will be released on Nintendo Switch and PC at the same time in summer 2022.

If you still don’t know the game yet, Monster Hunter Rise is a new edition in Capcom’s iconic RPG series that transports players to Kamura Village, one of the villages in Monster Hunter history, with a colorful and serene backdrop that attracts tourists with its distinct culture and sophisticated hunting technology.

Rise stays faithful to the gameplay experiences provided by previous games in the series, while also presenting an evolution by introducing numerous new and interesting features for hunters to learn. For the first time in a Monster Hunter game, wire grab operations may be done while standing or flying utilizing a “Wirebug,” bringing a new degree of aerial mobility to hunting methods and assaults. Furthermore, the game introduces the “Wyvern Riding” method, which allows players to momentarily control a monster and create dramatic fight sequences throughout the hunt.

The game also adds new hunting partners known as Palamutes, which are customizable and mountable “Canyne” companions that give players additional assault choices. The “Canyne” Palicoes of Palamutes join series favorite “Felyne” Palicoes to help players during hunts. Hunters may kill monsters and proceed through the game’s tasks alone or with up to three other hunters in local or online co-op play.

In the new Sunbreak trailer, an eerie new setting serves as a backdrop to a menacing new monster, and despite what was shown yesterday, Capcom’s team commented alongside the announcement that more information related to each aspect of this new expansion will be shared at a later date.

Monster Hunter Rise is available now on Nintendo Switch and will be available on PC in Q1 2022.
