The 2D action-adventure game Moonlighter brings its pixel art goodness to iOS devices starting today.
Indie developer Digital Sun Games and publisher 11 Bit Studios aim for a console-like experience with this premium mobile port. Moonlighter – which draws inspiration from classic Legend of Zelda games – is already out on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch.
“Porting Moonlighter to mobile was a no-brainer for us. We knew the game would look and play great on the go if we managed to redesign the user interface and the controls. It took a lot of work for the Digital Sun team, but the effect is nothing short of amazing,” says Rufus Kubica at 11 Bit Studios.
“It has no in-game ads, no microtransactions, no distractions. It’s a full, premium title that you would normally play on your PC or console – but now you can enjoy it on your smartphone or a tablet. We’re super satisfied with how it looks and feels – and we hope our community will share that feeling,” Kubica adds.
Moonlighter received mostly positive reviews when it came out on PC and consoles. It is currently averaging an 82 out of 100 on OpenCritic. If you haven’t yet played it on PC, you can get it for cheap right now as part of the Humble Sweet Farm Fall Bundle.
Meanwhile, the iOS version is available on the App Store for $11.99.
