The software rankings for the UK are in from last week. Electronic Arts has plenty of reason to be happy. They took three of the top four slots in the charts. Nintendo was the only other publisher with multiple games in the top 10 (both Brain Training games for Nintendo DS). After debuting at #2 last week, Need for Speed: ProStreet is #1 in this week’s charts. Assassin’s Creed fell five spaces in its third week on the market. Below are the top 10 selling games with the three highest selling platforms in parenthesis:

1. Need for Speed: ProStreet (PS2, 360, PS3)
2. Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training (DS)
3. The Simpsons Game (PS2, DS, PSP)
4. FIFA 08 (PS2, 360, PSP)
5. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (360, PS3, PC)
6. Assassin’s Creed (360, PS3)
7. Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games (Wii)
8. WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 (PS2, 360, PS3)
9. More Brain Training from Dr. Kawashima (DS)
10. Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (PS2, 360, PS3)

Need for Speed ProStreet is doing best on PS2 with 38% marketshare for Sony’s seven year old platform. Xbox 360 follows with 28% and PS3 with 21%. The Simpsons also is selling best on PS2 (33%), with the other console versions, Wii and Xbox 360, trailing behind by over 20 percentage points. Call of Duty 4 is selling 54/28/15 Xbox 360/PS3/PC, while Assassin’s Creed is selling 65/35 in favor of Xbox 360 over PS3. Mario and Sonic at the Olympics is the best selling Wii game for the week, with Super Mario Galaxy falling out of the top 10 at #11.
