New Wii Controller Looks Like SNES

For some reason, Nintendo shied away from revealing their traditional alternate controller add-on for the Nintendo Wii at E3. Despite reports that the controller would simply be a “shell” for the standard Wii remote, it appears to be a standalone controller altogether. The Japanese Nintendo website reveals the new design. The design is reminiscent of Nintendo’s old SNES control design, with what appear to be shoulder buttons, four button configuration on the right face of the controller and control pad on the left face of the controller. Two analog sticks are in the middle of the controller, similar to that of the PlayStation 2.
