Nintendo Admits Weak 3DS Launch
Disappointed fans wondering when a “killer app” is going to arrive that is made specifically for the Nintendo 3DS have company: none other than the House of Mario itself. Nintendo’s president, Satoru Iwata, admitted the system’s shortcomings to investors.
“We were not able to launch Nintendo 3DS at a time when a sufficient number of strong software titles were ready,” Iwata said. He blamed the lack of notable launch titles on Nintendo’s demand for high quality products, often resulting in delays. “Because we are doing this, we cannot constantly provide the market with big hit titles.”
