Nintendo Cuts Wii Price to $130

Nintendo has cut the price of the Wii to $130 one month ahead of the launch of their latest home console, Wii U. The bundle includes a black Wii along with both Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort on a single disc, a black Wii Remote Plus and a nunchuk. The new system model is no longer backwards compatible with GameCube. It will be available by October 29.

“Nearly six years after it launched, people are still attracted to the pure, inclusive fun of the Wii console,” said Nintendo of America executive vice president of Sales and Marketing Scott Moffitt. “A new suggested retail price and the inclusion of two great games make it an easy choice for families looking for a great value this holiday season.”
