New Internet data shows that Nintendo’s Wii is leading the next-generation pack, at least with online users. According to Nielsen/NetRatings, Nintendo.com has seen a 91% surge year-over-year in unique viewers to 1.6 million in February 2007. By comparison, Xbox.com for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 improved 47% to second place from third a year ago with 1.2 million unique hits. PlayStation.com has plunged from being the first place first-party console site to third, falling 8% with 1 million uniques in February 2007.
