Nintendo fans across the country are crying today as the company just announced the new name for their next-generation console that might be a favor to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. No longer the Revolution (at least by company reps), the system will now be called Nintendo Wii (pronounced “we”). Don’t worry though, it’s so terrible that Game Freaks 365 is going to continue to call it the Revolution.
If you still think this is a prank, check out CNNMoney.com. Perrin Kaplan, Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Affairs for Nintendo of America, spoke to CNN’s Chris Morris. “The other systems have an extension of their current names; ours is a new leap to something different,” she said. “A lot of thought went into the name.” You can find the “coming out” video by clicking this link.
