Octavia now available as latest Paladins champion, Game On Event Pass live

Octavia the Indomitable Paladins

Octavia the Indomitable is out today as Paladins’ second champion this year alongside the new Game On event pass.

Octavia was announced earlier this month as the game’s 48th champion. She is described as a “powerful battlefield Champion that we’ve wanted in our game for a while.”

“As a design team, we started with the idea that we needed a marksman rifle weapon in our game. From there, Octavia evolved and became a unique Damage Champion equally able to support her team and deal high damage. Octavia is easy to understand but hard to master – that’s the perfect profile for the Realm’s Commander,” says Alex D’Alessandro, Game Designer at Evil Mojo Games.

Learn more about Octavia

As a Damage Champion, Octavia is lethal with her main weapon: a semi-automatic Marksman Rifle of uncompromising precision. What’s more, when aiming down sights in mid-air, she levitates briefly enough to puzzle enemies and to land a devastating bullseye.

As soon as a battle begins, Octavia steps into her role as troop Commander, opting for one of four tactics that will strengthen all allies for the entire match.

She deploys a Distortion Field to influence the entire battlefield. This huge dome is see-through for allies but hopelessly opaque for enemies.

Her ultimate is a shield-shattering Creeping Barrage. It forces enemies out of the target area, or else burns them to a crisp.

New Event Pass: Game On

Today’s update introduces Paladins’ first ever Event Pass, “Game On”. As they play matches, players can unlock two Champion Skins plus an alternative version for each – including Rezzed Ying for free. The Event Pass also holds Crystals and dozens of cosmetic rewards.

From now on, Evil Mojo Games will be providing Paladins players with an upgrade of the Battle Pass formula: Event Passes. They are cheaper and come with a nicer look and a faster rotation rate—every two months down from three. Even better: players will complete them twice as fast.

In total, each Event Pass is made of 24 levels to climb through just from playing Paladins. Each level unlocks an impactful reward. Some of them are accessible for free, including one of the four new Champion Skins in each Event Pass.

Event Passes present players with a new stimulating Quest system: the Trials of the Realm. Every week, a new region of the Realm opens its gates, revealing several Quest lines. Each player decides on which to tackle first.

Free-to-play

Paladins is a free-to-play online hero shooter. It was first released back in 2018. It’s available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. It is also backward compatible on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
