Outriders has reached 3.5 million unique players worldwide in its first month. That’s according to internal data from publisher Square Enix.
“With over 3.5 million unique players, average playtimes of over 30 hours and extremely high engagement for co-operative play, we and the amazing team at People Can Fly are so excited with this initial success,” said Jon Brooke, Co-Head of Studio at Square Enix External Studios.
“Launching a new game IP is never easy and we remain very grateful for the community’s support and feedback. We continue to listen carefully and want to assure everyone that we are committed to improving and enhancing the experience in the coming weeks and months. We also look forward to expanding on Outriders in the future,” Brooke adds.
Outriders is on pace to become the company’s next big franchise
The fast-paced RPG shooter is set in a unique dark sci-fi universe. As the last of mankind bleeds out in the trenches of Enoch’s wild and unforgiving planet, you awake as one of the Outriders. Travel through a hostile world where something has hyper-evolved to destroy you. Choose from four different classes and use deep and fluid character customization to create your own play style. Gather twisted and glamorous weapons and accessories, and wield violent and domineering abilities.
The free Outriders demo is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, as well as Steam and GeForce Now on PC. Additionally, beginning on May 18th through the end of the month, Square Enix is offering a variety of limited-time price promotions across all platforms.
The game launched on April 1, 2021. It is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Steam, Epic Games Store, GeForce NOW, and Google Stadia. It is free with Xbox Game Pass.
