Two indie titles headline PlayStation Plus in May: What Remains of Edith Finch and Overcooked.
Overcooked is a cooking simulation game where players control chefs in a kitchen preparing meals. You have to overcome obstacles and hazards to get the orders out in time. It supports local coop. The game is averaging a 78 out of 100 on Metacritic.
What Remains of Edith Finch is a collection of short stories that play out as a first-person adventure. The game won the Best Narrative category at the Game Developers Choice Awards 2018. It is averaging an 88 out of 100 on Metacritic.
While the lineup is not as bad as Xbox Live Games with Gold, this is still the third month in a row where Sony has not replaced PS3 and Vita games – which were removed in March – with additional PS4 games. Instead of receiving five or six games each month, as was the case before, PlayStation Plus is now only two games, drastically reducing its value.
Nonetheless, Sony requires PlayStation Plus to play multiplayer games on PS4. So if you need to renew PlayStation Plus, right now you can get a 12-month subscription for $46.
