Overwatch on Switch does not include a cartridge

Blizzard’s popular first-person shooter Overwatch launches on Nintendo Switch tomorrow. You’ll need to download the game, even if you buy a “physical” copy.

That’s because physical copies of Overwatch: Legendary Edition on Switch do not come with a cartridge. They only include a piece of paper with a game code printed on it. That little detail is right on the game’s box, which notes that a full game download is required.

“Game card not included!” the box warns.

Unless you’re someone who likes to collect plastic boxes, you might want to just get this on Nintendo’s eShop instead – or pass it up entirely. The initial install is 12.1 GB if you buy the digital version of the game. You should also expect to download patches and game updates in the future.
