Bandai Namco has announced Pac-Man World Re-Pac.
Pac-Man World Re-Pac is a “remastered” and enhanced version of one of the most popular Pac-Man games of all time. Pac-Man World saw Pac-Man’s debut in the 3D platforming genre when it launched on the original PlayStation in 1999.
According to Bandai Namco, Pac-Man World Re-Pac brings back the classic with full-screen HD visual enhancements, improvements for more intuitive gameplay, and new features. Although they are calling it a “remaster,” in reality this is a remake; the original game is now 23 years old.
Fans can expect multiple modes: Quest Mode and a Maze Mode bring classic Pac-Man gameplay to 3D mazes. There is also a complete version of the original game in Original Mode that players can unlock after completing the main game. In the main Quest Mode experience, you will use a variety of attacks, abilities, and powerups, as you run, jump, solve puzzles, and chomp through Ghost Island.
“Many fans remember when Pac-Man went 3D, adding a whole new dimension to the signature fun gameplay and whimsical world that he represents,” said Bandai Namco’s Susan Tran. “We’re bringing that experience to this generation of gaming with Pac-Man World Re-Pac.”
The remaster is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on August 26, 2022.
