Namco announced today the release of Pac-Pix for the Nintendo DS, a Pac-Man spin-off that utilizes the DS touch-screen capabilities. The innovative game design behind Pac-Pix started as a concept demo at E3. Players draw their own Pac-Man character, control him, then eat the ghosts on the screen by guiding him.
“Pac-Pix lets players express their creativity through the DS’ stylus and touch screen by drawing Pac-Man and a variety of items to track down pesky Ghosts,” said Yoshi Niki, Business Unit Director at Namco. “People have been drawing Pac-Man for 25 years, and we now have the capability to let players bring these drawings to life in an all-new adventure.”
